Introduction

The idea of our web-quest is to have you learn and present information about the solar system. This web-quest is designed to help young students get a good idea of what is beyond Earth and that there are other planets out there. You will see that some are very similar to Earth but yet some are completely different. Students will also be able to get a visual picture of how each planet is positioned in the solar system because you will have to design your own solar system. The overall question that you will be able to answer after this webquest is, "What is the most interesting thing you learned about the planet you and your partner researched?"

The Task

You will be able to learn interesting facts about the solar system including characteristics, history, and transportation. You will take the information you have learned and create your own version of the solar system. There will be nine groups, you and a partner will be assigned one planet and then you will find what you can and then present the information you find to the class. Once everyone has done their research we will then put everyone's information together to form our class solar system.

Process

  1. First you will be assigned to a group of 2 or 3 students.
  2. The teacher will assign you the planet you are to research.
  3. The groups will then search the various sites given below.
  4. You will need to make notes of everything you find when researching.
